About the Opera.
Part of Malipiero’s cycle of Goldoni-inspired stage works, Sior Todero brontolon distills the wit and bite of Carlo Goldoni’s original comedy into a taut, modernist one-act. Malipiero’s transparent orchestration and speech-like vocal writing sharpen the satire of an irascible Venetian patriarch whose scheming collides with the younger generation’s desires.
