Verdi’s political and personal drama returned to the Deutsche Oper Berlin in early 2008 in Lorenzo Fioroni’s staging, under the baton of Renato Palumbo.
Across six performances (17, 20, 23 Feb; 9, 14, 21 Mar), Piero Terranova appeared as Paolo Albiani alongside alternating casts led by
Alberto Gazale / Alexandru Agache in the title role, Anja Harteros / Annalisa Raspagliosi as Amelia, Roberto Scandiuzzi / Raymond Aceto as Fiesco, and
Carlo Ventre / Fabio Sartori as Adorno. The production was sung in Italian with German surtitles.
