In June 2001, the National Theatre Belgrade presented a
new production of Verdi’s
Rigoletto across three performances (9, 11 & 20 June).
Baritone
Piero Terranova sang the title role, with principals including
Dušan Plazinić (Duke) and
Sanja Kerkez (Gilda); conducted by
Dejan Savić and
Giuseppe Montanaro, and staged by
Predrag Protić.

Summary.
Rigoletto (1851), Verdi’s powerful drama of vengeance and tragedy, was presented in Belgrade as a new production in June 2001.
Piero Terranova performed the title role, bringing depth and intensity to the tormented jester. Conductors Dejan Savić and Giuseppe Montanaro
alternated on the podium, with staging by Predrag Protić.
