About the Opera.
Premiered in 1851, Verdi’s Rigoletto pairs taut, fast-moving drama with some of the composer’s most memorable music,
from the Duke’s “La donna è mobile” to the quartet “Bella figlia dell’amore.” The tragedy follows the jester Rigoletto,
his sheltered daughter Gilda, and the predatory Duke of Mantua through a spiral of vengeance that ends in heartbreak.

Piero Terranova sang the title role under the stage direction of Roberto Scandiuzzi,
