About the Opera.
Composed in 1832, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore is a comic masterpiece blending lighthearted humor with genuine emotional warmth.
The story follows the naïve peasant Nemorino, who falls in love with the clever and independent Adina, and seeks the help of a traveling quack, Dulcamara, who sells him a supposed “love potion” to win her affection.
