Summary.
Nabucco (1842) is Verdi’s powerful early masterpiece with libretto by Temistocle Solera, famed for its rousing chorus “Va, pensiero”.
At Festival Mediterranea 2014, Piero Terranova took the title role of Nabucco in a production staged by Enrico Stinchelli and conducted by Joseph Vella, marking the opera’s return to Teatru Astra after 20 years.

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Joseph Vella, and the Astra Opera Chorus were central to this acclaimed revival, which celebrated the opera’s choral richness and dramatic power.
