Summary.
Verdi’s La traviata (1853), inspired by Dumas fils’ La Dame aux camélias, is one of the most performed operas worldwide.
In July 2007, La Scala revived the work in a star-cast production conducted by Lorin Maazel and staged by
Liliana Cavani. Baritone Piero Terranova appeared as Il marchese d’Obigny.
